Tennis in Malaga is set to experience one of the most significant events in its history with the upcoming Davis Cup 2024 Final. 

This prestigious international tournament, which brings together the best national teams in the world, is returning to Spain, cementing Malaga as a key destination for tennis enthusiasts. 

The event will not only attract the bop tennis players on the planet, but it will also place the city in the global sports spotlight throughout November.

Dates and venue: the perfect stage

The Davis Cup 2024 Final will take place from 19th to 24th November at the iconic José María Martín Carpena Sports Arena in Malaga.

This venue has hosted numerous top-tier sporting events and can accommodate more than 11,000 spectators, offering an ideal atmosphere to enjoy the best tennis in the world

The choice of Malaga as the host city is no coincidence, as the city has proven in recent years to be an excellent host for international competitions.

The Malaga crowd, known for its passion for sports, will transform the Martín Carpena into a thrilling spectacle of energy and enthusiasm.

Fans, both local and international, will enjoy the exciting atmosphere while Malaga offers its renowned hospitality. 

Qualified teams: the tournament’s main players

Eight of the best national teams have qualified for the Final 8 stage of the 2024 Davis Cup. These nations represent some of the strongest tennis squads in the world, bringing together elite players ready to fight for the coveted trophy.

  • Spain. Led by Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz, Spain comes into the final stages as one of the favourites. Alongside them, Pablo Carreño, Roberto Bautista and Marcel Granollers complete the Spanish squad, aiming for the first Davis Cup title since 20219.
  • Netherlands. Spain will face the Netherlands in the quarter-finals, a team featuring Tallon Griekspoor and Botic van de Zandschulp, who notably defeated Alcaraz at the 2024 US Open.
  • Italy. Led by world number 1 Jannik Sinner, Italy are defending champions and one of the strongest teams this year. They face Argentina in the quarter-finals, with players like Matteo Berrettini contributing to their success.
  • Argentina. Known for their fighting spirit, Argentina will be spearheaded by Francisco Cerúndolo and Sebastian Báez, hoping to upset the reigning champions in their quarter-final match.
  • United States. A tennis powerhouse, the US will go head-to-head with Australia in the quarter-finals, with stars like Taylor Fritz and Frances Tiafoe representing their country.
  • Australia. Another favourite, Australia, boasts a strong team including Alexei Popyrin, looking to clinch a Davis Cup title after being runners-up last year.
  • Canada. Winners in 2022, Felix Auger-Aliassime leads the Canadian team, which faces Germany in a highly anticipated quarter-final clash.
  • Germany. With Olympic champion Alexander Zverev at the helm, Germany presents a formidable challenge to Canada.
